Handcrafted Timber Structures
Solid. Naturally Textured. Built to Age Well Outdoors.
Custom pergolas and pavilions built from full-thickness Douglas fir timbers — designed to feel solid, hold their finish, and remain beautiful over time.
A Magnificent Presence
A hand-crafted heavy-timber outdoor structure becomes a welcoming, dignified extension of your home — with a commanding presence you can feel.
No rickety construction.
No spindly posts.
No planed-smooth, CNC-cut timber.
Just solid timber, shaped and finished by hand.
Timber That Performs Outdoors
Douglas fir is chosen for how it performs outdoors.
It’s strong, stable, and well suited to long-term exposure. The grain structure accepts finish well, allowing colour to hold and wear more evenly over time. As it weathers, the wood develops character instead of breaking down or looking washed out.
The result is a timber structure that looks refined on day one — and continues to look good as it ages.
How Processed Wood Ages Outdoors
Many mass-produced outdoor structures and kits are cut from planed-smooth wood using machines. That approach makes sense for indoor or light-duty applications, where consistency and speed matter.
Outdoors, that polished surface doesn’t absorb finish deeply and tends to fade faster over time.
We work differently. Rough-sawn Douglas fir retains its natural texture and open grain, and each piece is hand-worked over days — not minutes — so finish penetrates deeper, wears more evenly, and the structure ages naturally.
Hand-Finished, Not Factory-Perfect
Every beam is hand-finished.
Edges are eased.
Natural variation is left intact.
Uniformity belongs to machines.
Character belongs to wood.
